WHAT IS BETAR?!?!

Betar is a Zionist youth movement that was founded in 1923 by Zeev Jabotinsky. Betar organises camps, seminars and weekly activities for thousands of Jewish youth all around the world. In Australia, we have three main branches in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, while we also hold activities on the Gold Coast in Byron Bay and on the Sunshine Coast.

Betar’s Winter Camp for years 3 – 10 is an amazing opportunity to form new bonds with students from all over Australia. It allows an individual to feel connected to their Jewish Identity and Israel. Activities include whacky challenges, extremely fun activities, deep discussions, various sporting and recreation activities and a whole lot more!

Message from Roshei Machane (Head of Camp)

Winter Camp is on its way! We hope you are all excited and ready for a camp that will, undoubtedly, have the MOST ruach (spirit) ever seen on a Betar camp!

Camp will be full of enjoyable, exciting activities for kidsfrom grades 2 – 10 to enjoy! With activities ranging from sport and recreation, arts and craft, Israel’s history, Hebrew, Israel today and Betar ideology, Machane La’Gaat Bashamayim (meaning Camp ‘Touch the Sky’) promises to have you soaring to the greatest heights.

Machane La’gaat Bashamayim aims to give a voice to the youth, to encourage all chanichim (participants) to reach to their greatest potential and to instil a confidence in the leaders of our future. Through education and bonding activities, Machane La’gaat Bashamayim will, like it’s name suggests, be a campwhere you can ‘touch the sky’. Through fun, energy, creativity and spirit, this camp guarantees to have you screaming for more!

We can’t wait to see you then!
