What is Betar?

Betar is a Zionist Youth Movement that was established in 1923 by Ze’ev Jabotinsky. Betar actively promotes the idea of Hadar (respect and pride) and Tagar (standing up for ones beliefs). Among the many other Betar branches around the world, Betar Melbourne strives to provide high quality role models for children and strengthen the bonds of our Jewish community. Betar runs weekly Zohar Program for chanichim (participants) in grades 2-12 alongside seminars, camps and charity functions through our three branches in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

Betar Winter Camp is a great opportunity for kids from years 2-10 to connect with the Jewish community and make long life friendships. Our highly trained Madrichim (leaders) aim to teach about Israel’s rich culture and history through fun and engaging activities. At Mesiba be-Betar, the chanichim (participants) will have a fun and challenging experience that will include informal education, deep discussions, extreme challenges and a whole lot more.

Message from Rosh Machane

Hola! Shalom! Gday! Namaste!

Pack your energy into a party popper and be ready to release it, shake away the shivers of winter and be whatever you want to be at Mesiba Be-Betar! It’s going to Be 4 nights and 5 days (10th to 14th of July) of different international celebrations mixed in with all your favourite Betar traditions and banter!

Jake and myself (Marc) have over 20 years of Ruach and Mesiba experience between us, along with all the other leaders (Madrachim). We ensure that you/your child will come back exhausted with great memories, experiences and a broken voice! Sign up quick and prepare for the best part of the school holidays!!

Hope to see you on the Ruach Floor!!

Mark Szulman (Rosh Machane) and Jake Gostin (Katzin Toran)
